The Spring/Summer 2023 collection from Stone Island features pieces that have evolved over time, each with a hand-sprayed texture and colour.
Stone Island's heritage fabric, the Mussola Gommata, which is made by laminating a very thin layer of cotton muslin to a clear polyurethane film with a canvas texture and hand-spraying colour on the inside, is featured this season in the technical garment staple. The airbrush effect then becomes visible from the outside and helps to produce a one-of-a-kind, unmatched three-dimensional effect.
The Hand-Sprayed Mussola Gommata-TC line adopts a windbreaker-style jacket with an adventure-focused aesthetic. While one jacket has a bike jacket-like structure and a standing collar with two snaps fastening, the hooded, technical garment comes in a colour blocking of grey and light blue. This jacket has an aged leather biker-inspired colour scheme of khaki and olive and slanting hand pockets with a concealed zip closure. Both items feature tightening snaps at the cuffs and the Stone Island badge on the left sleeve.
The collection includes a variety of knitwear, sweatshirts, and t-shirts in addition to outerwear items, all of which have designs that were hand-sprayed. The crewneck is given the airbrush treatment, and the inner side of the back is also manually sprayed. The outside of the dyed item displays the contrasting tones. A Stone Island badge is located on the left sleeve, and the crewneck also has a ribbed neckline, one chest pocket, and a vertical zipper fastening.
