Marni's FW23 Explodes With Color

Marni's FW23 Explodes With Color - C-SQUARE

Under the leadership of creative director Francesco Risso, Marni has advanced significantly. Its reputation as a maker of straightforward-yet-luxurious knitwear has changed, in part because of thoughtful partnerships with companies like UNIQLO, VEJA, and most recently, Carhartt WIP.

If there's one thing about Marni you can count on, it's color—lots and lots of it!

In contrast to many other brands, Marni is adept at using it. Their garments are bright and often quite garish (in a good way, of course), but they work.

Risso provided yet another timely reminder at its FW23 Tokyo presentation that luxury doesn't have to be dull; it can still be vibrant. Dramatic, too.

FW23 was a lesson in how to use both colour and patterns effectively, a kind of staple for any Marni collection these days, ranging from more tailored, formal styles like blazers and shirting to more everyday ensembles of knitwear (of course), leg wear, and outerwear.

The collection was displayed against a crisp white backdrop while accompanied by a dramatic live orchestra and choir, which only emphasized the vibrancy of each piece and provided additional evidence of how far Marni has advanced under Risso's leadership.
