Has Louis Vuitton Found Virgil Abloh's Successor in KidSuper's Founder? - C-SQUARE

In advance of its highly anticipated menswear presentation at Paris Fashion Week on January 19, Louis Vuitton revealed this morning that it will include items co-created by KidSuper designer Colm Dillane.

Colm, the artist and performer behind the Brooklyn-based label KidSuper, is rumoured to have been covertly working out of the Parisian studio of the French luxury house for several months prior to the show next week.

Although Dillane's position after PFW has not been publicly discussed, it is known that the studio has worked with the designer as a guest designer and will continue to do so in the near future. Naturally, there will continue to be rumours that everything will be revealed at the show regarding who will finally be named as Virgil Abloh's replacement after his death in November 2021.

Grace Wales Bonner, Samuel Ross, and Martine Ros, the Pitti Uomo Guest Designer for this season, were among the other names in the posh LV hat alongside Dillane. But it's not impossible that LV's current studio-first strategy could stick around the house permanently, perhaps with a changing roster of guest designers.

Whatever the case, if LV is continuing the creative director vibe and it is announced next week, Dillane will become the front-runner to take the helm permanently due to his temporary position as stand-in creative director.
