A$AP Nast revealed earlier this month that Stüssy and Dries Van Noten collaboration was on its way — and now the first official look at the lookbook has arrived.
The official photos were released in response to a recent video that Stüssy had shared on his social media channels. In it, Flea from the Red Hot Chilli Peppers was seen stretching in a few of the collection's key pieces. In the teaser video, he was seen wearing a co-branded varsity letterman jacket with graphic patches and gold embroidery, while on the bottom half, he was seen lounging in a pair of shorts with Dries' recognizable abstract patterning.
Now that we have our first look at the lookbook, we see more of the same bold patterns and abstract branding, with the campaign moving to the beach to bring some warmth to the chilly winter months. With a play on both subtle and unexpected colours, vibrant prints, and proportions, the collection, appropriately titled "Holiday '22," explores the Stüssy classics to produce a well-rounded and adaptable wardrobe.
In addition to a variety of bomber jackets, crewnecks, loose-fit pants, and vests made from a variety of materials, including leather and corduroy, the collection includes a lot of weather-appropriate outerwear. The expected Stüssy and Dries motifs are used throughout, but there are also some fresh takes on the latter, with new cut-and-sew interpretations presenting reimagined visual themes.
